Another Marathon Brainstorming Session
and a "Daily Did Sheet" has made the biggest impact on my productivity. The Daily Did Sheet is an actual list of what you accomplished versus what your To do List said you should do.
Comparing the 2 will let you identify the distractions that are keeping you from accomplishing the desired results. It's like having an accountability buddy, only you hold yourself accountable.

Comments on Another Marathon Brainstorming Session
Hi JT,
Your previous experience with internet marketing is evident in the way your blog is organized and thought out. Well done!
I appreciated your comments also during the brainstorming session yesterday about leaving comments that are helpful, informative, and original. And, also bookmarking them in the social sites.
What is your take on the blog roll situation that Joe has brought to our attention?
Thanks,
Theresa
Hi Theresa,
Thanks for the kind words. Unfortunately, I was only able to attend the last 2 hours of the brainstorming session. I didn't here what Joe said but I went to his blog and read his post.
There is no real way to know what Google is doing and they do constantly change things to keep SEO'ers guessing. I had not considered this from a link spam perspective. I looked at it as a Google page rank issue.
I use a plugin called "NoFollow Links". It attaches the rel="nofollow" attribute to which ever links I pick. This tells the search engine spiders not to crawl those links. Having a lot of outgoing links lets your page rank "leak" to the sites that you are linking to.
Not really very nice but you still get some "link love" when you post a comment. I only enabled the nofollow for my blogroll.
Google is very tough when it comes to things like this. I had my Google adsense account suspended and to this day do not know what I did. There only response to my numerous inquiries was to read the terms of service.
If your blog roll is starting to get big, then I recommend using the plugin and add the nofollow attribute to your blog roll links. Google will be blind to the links because the spiders won't be following them.
This sounds like a good topic for a video
