How Are You Building Your List?
I have been using JV Giveaways to build my list ever since I first downloaded the Profit Pulling Platform that Alex Jeffreys gave all his students back in December of 2008. The ebook that came with it, "List Building With Alex", is all about how Alex used JV Giveaways to build his list when he first started out.
I have been using giveaways ever since and added 2000 subscribers to my list since then. There have been a few developements on the JV Giveaway scene that have caused more and more people to use JV Giveaways. There are also a lot of people who are hosting there own giveaways then before.
That is good news for me and you because we have more list building opportunities. I myself am going to host my own giveaway the end of this month and also have one in the works with some of my fellow students that we are going to co-host.
Hosting my own giveaway event should make my list swell up considerably. What I have found is that now that I actually have a list of sorts, I have an asset that I can use as levereage to add even more subscribers to my list. I use my list to send traffic to other people and get paid for it.
Now I can actually get paid cash, (already had a couple offers) but I would rather get paid in subscribers. What I am talking about is ad swaps. This is where I send your email to my list and you send my email to your list. Very simple, but very effective. This is something that you don't here the guru's talk about much but it is going on in the background all the time.
When I was at Alex's workshop in Vegas, I met Jit Uppal and Lance Tamashiro. Both of them were telling me about how they were having great success using ad awaps to build there list. They told me about a site called IMadswaps where you can find other internet marketers who are looking for ad swap partners.
This is a great way to diversify your list building strategy and to meet other Internet marketers. Making contact and doing a successful ad swap can open the door to many other joint venture partnership possibilities.
One thing I have seen is that the internet marketers, that are making big paydays, are doing it with traffic from JV partners. They are not submitting articles, using traffic exchanges, safelists, press relaeases and social media. Ok, well they are in the pre launch phases to cause a buzz but the server crushing traffic on launch day is coming from joint venture partners mailing to their lists.
That is why you keep hearing over and over and over again, "the money is in the list". My mentor Alex Jeffreys told me that if I only had one thing that I must do, it is build a list. List building takes precedent over all the other things in my online business right now.
Your email list is not only your greatest asset, it is the same as having currency that you can leverage with other Internet marketers. Another thing that Alex told me, "look for ways to leverage everything you do".
So if you aren't building your list yet, then get off your ass and start doing it now! If you don't know how, download my ebook, read it and start using JV Giveaways. That is by far the easiest way for a beginner to start building your list. Once you have a list of a couple hundred, you can start doing adswaps with other people and your list will grow even faster.
If you have any questions please leave a comment and I will respond. I would love to hear your thoughts on this subject and I am always open to new ideas. If you leave a comment I will respond within a day so be patient. I don't do this full time yet so I am at work 8 hours a day.

I need to get going with this asap. My list of zero is calling out for some growth. I had downloaded the ebook last week but got sidetracked with a phishing problem that won't seem to go away.
I might need a little help getting this all set up this week.
Hi Bob,
Just let me know. I have helped a lot of the students from the first class get set up and going with JV giveaways. I can set up your first one and make a tutorial video for you as I do it. That way you can do the next ones by your self.
Although that was for people that didn't know there way around cpanel at all. I don't know what your skill sets are. You know where to find me if you need me.
Thanks JT,
I'll take you up on your offer to get my first one set up. I am pretty green.
Bob
Hi JT,
great looking blog, and thank you for sharing the ad swapping technique…makes a lot of sense, great pearl of wisdom.
Annie
Hey JT I'm truly knew to this but I know but it sounds great
also a really great looking blog i'm just starting to get into the book
i've been working on my blog with Adam spiel he did a great job putting
it together for me i;m still trying to figure out what header to put up.
Well any way when I get up and running I will search you out.
Hi Ann Marie,
How have things been going since the coaching? I am glad you liked the little nugget I shared. This is one of those things that all the big marketers do but don't talk about it to much.
I am starting to meet some people with decent size lists and as a result, mine is starting to grow faster. I picked up over 175 new subscribers from an ad swap the other day. (Shout out to Frank Salinas!)
If you join the site you will have to send Matt an email and give him a little nudge to get you registered. Be persistent if necessary. Don't worry about the size of your list. I see people doing swaps that only have 200 subscribers.
I friend of mine, Dave Offen, has just started a ning community for adswaps as well. I don't have the link in front of me but will post it up on the blog as soon as I find it.
Thanks for stopping by
JT

You are a wealth of knowledge and are obviously honest and sincere in wanting to help us newbies to progress.
I will certainly be visting your blog again and will spread the word.
All the best,
Stewart
Hi Stewart,
Your to kind. I just remember how tough it is when you are first starting out. I wish that I had someone to help me a few years back when I first started trying to make money online.
It could have saved me hours and hours of time, not to mention the frustration. I am glad to be of service and give a helping hand. Besides, it's good for my "cyber karma".
JT

Hi JT
Thanks for sharing this – especially the IM AdSwaps, great concept
Regards

Hi JT
It's John Tanner here another AJ student. I'm just starting to look at other students blogs to pick up tips (as I'm a newbie) and to find people that interested in cross promoting ideas to help build traffic virally.
I like what you're suggesting with the JV Giveaways and will try and implement your ideas ….. I'm on vacation at the moment …. but so keen to get my traffic going.
Keep in touch,
John Tanner

Hi Mark,
Great job on the video. I have been thinking about doing a welcome video for my blog as well. As a matter a fact, I have been thinking about doing some video posts.
I have been to your blog before but it looks different. Did you do an over haul? Who did your header? I use this plain theme because it is "Semiologic Pro" which is very SEO friendly. I am able to do a custom header but have held off because of other priorities.
I have been doing very well with my affiliate promotions lately and want to invest some of it into sprucing up the blog a little. I will probably get Mike to do it. He just did some great work on my giveaway graphics.
Thanks for coming by,
JT
Hi Peter,
Thanks for stopping by. I'm glad you like the post. The adswaps are turning into to something very powerful for me. I keep meeting more and more internet marketers via other adswap partners.
The day before yesterday I got on an adswap list with Reed Floren. The coolest thing that I like about adswaps is that it lets me offer all kinds of free content to my list. My adswap partners provide the content!
I wonder why you don't hear more "gurus" talking about adswaps? Hmmmmmm….
I stopped by your blog. Nice theme. Are you on Twitter? You should at least have a "Follow Me" button or something on your blog. If your not using social media, you're missing the boat. I get a lot of visitors to this blog via Twitter.
JT
Hi John,
Enjoy your vacation and then look me up when your ready to get going with the giveaways. I have helped more then a few of my fellow students get set up and going with JV Giveaways.
Here is a JV Giveaway Events directory so you can keep up with all the on going and up coming events. You can also sign up to be notified of new events via email.
I had a look at your blog. Keep up the good work. Making posts that will help your fellow students get going is a good way to keep them coming back.
JT
Hi JT,
I seem to have been landed on your blog a few times already since I started Alex's course so you must be doing something right. I certainly don't know enough about JV giveaways yet so I'll be back to learn more.
Best Wishes
Andy
Hi,JT,
it's really great post!.
I will follow your recommendations.
Guru JT
I applaud your knowledge and your kindness to share I will in due course check your videos out.
In all seriousness you rock man!!
Took me ages to get the concept into my head that the money is in the list so have to get rocking and a rolling.
Keep Up The Good Work
All the best
Graeme
JT –
Great info, and has me super motivated now to get in on JV Giveaways. I have just sketched out a "straw man" of my latest product, and will be chugging some energy drinks at night and getting that project done! Thanks for the inspiration, and great resources!
Hi JT,
thanks again for your pearls of wisdom, will get onto Frank Salinas, Matt and Dave Often as soon as I get back from NZ. Going for a week of visiting family and trying snowboarding
Hi Andy,
Are you the same Andy Michaels that I am doing an ad swap with today? If so, then make sure you download and read my book. Then contact me if you need any help with the giveaways.
I have helped a lot of people get set up and going with their list building. Of course, if you are doing adswaps then you are well on your way already. The giveaways will just be an additional source of subscribers.
JT
Anatoly,
Glad you liked the post and good luck with your list building.
Graeme,
Your gonna make my head swell up. Please don't call me a guru, I am a long way from it. LOL I do appreciate the compliment. I am here to serve my friend. It's good for my cyber karma!
I wish I had taken my list building seriously 4 years ago when I first started trying to make money online. I would be a guru right now! The best advice I can give is not to take action, but take MASSIVE action.
All the theories, blueprints, and business plans in the world aren't worth a hill of beans if they aren't implemented.
JT
Hi Rich,
You don't have to wait until you have your own product. A decent PLR product will suffice until you can finish your product. No sense in missing out on list building opportunities. There are new giveaways every week.
You can find an updated listing of all of them here:
http://marketersmantras.com/giveaways
Let me know if you need any help.
Good luck with the list building,
JT
Hi Anne Marie,
I spent a month in New Zealand about 5 years ago. I was on the North island working at a paper mill in Kawerau. Beautiful country. I had a really good time there. Good luck with the snow boarding.
JT
Hi JT
I finally found a blog that is in line with what I have been trying to do.
Actually I shouldn't say "trying to do" because I have done I believe 4 giveaways to date.
Not getting much return on them yet but it is early in their cycle.
I will download your book and see what more I can learn.
You said you were putting together your own JV Giveaway. Would like to join. Send me info.
Thanks
Norm
Jt, that is an article that makes you want to take action. I have resisted building a list for 4 years. Why I don’t know. I have downloaded your book and read through it. Thanks for the value you are offering here.
Doug
Hi Norm,
I am glad that you like the content on my blog. I hope that it helps you in your endeavors. The giveaway will be ready this weekend. Look for a link either Saturday night or Sunday morning.
Hi Doug,
I am glad that I was able to motivate you. Taking action is the one thing that most people don't do. Let me know if I can help you out. Get on that list building! It has made all the difference for me and my online business.
JT
Hi Jt
You're giving some great advice here.
I've got to get my list to grow, so thanks.
regards
Mike
