Hi Jimmy,

I see where you are coming from with the TOS and I guess it would depend on how it&#039;s worded. I do not give out my subscribers information to anyone and I won&#039;t just swap with anyone.

I always review the offers I am sending, especially if it is coming from someone who is not one of my regular swap partners. I don&#039;t want to send my list garbage.

I do agree with you about the dilution of the industry. I think that after awhile, a group of &quot;swappers&quot; ends up sharing a large group of subscribers. That is why you always need to find &quot;new blood&quot; and continue to grow your swapping network.

I have found that the adswapping technique is an effective way to start and build a substantial list but at some point, it loses it&#039;s effectiveness and it is time to move onto other techniques.

I have reached that point in my business and while I will continue to do adswaps, for the time being, I am cutting back and pursuing other avenues to ad subscribers.

I know that a lot of the &quot;gurus&quot; would never do an adswap because in essence, you are giving away your list. The difference is that gurus have other means to build a list like using dimesales and affiliates.

If you do a product pre-launch, you can build a huge list in just a few days. People starting out don&#039;t have those kinds of options available to them. That is where adswaps can serve a useful purpose.

I have reached a point where it is time for me to change my tactics because I now have a list and my goal has changed from wanting more subscribers to wanting more &quot;responsive&quot; subscribers.

Hi JT...

I have a real problem with agreeing to any adswap ... now don&#039;t get me wrong, I believe in recommendations, JV&#039;s, etc...but I have a privacy policy that I guarantee my subscribers that their information will never be shared or compromised intentionally...

Therefore, I will not participate in any adswap and subject my subscibers or clients to any non permission based commercial email...but that&#039;s me.

I think some of the adswap cross promotion concepts have some great intentions and also a unique angle, but I also believe and have seen how it can also dilute the industry...polute inboxes and cause a tremendous of unsubscribe from lists ....

This is my opinion and personal business policy...something to think about

		<description>@&lt;a href=&quot;#comment-1656&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;Dawn&lt;/a&gt;:
Hi Dawn, I know this can be confusing when you first start out. Glad to see that you are smart enough to ask. :) You will have to have some sort of online presence to build a list.

There are some list building programs that let you build a list by referring people to the program but you don not have control over your mailings and you are also building the program owners list.

The process is the same as when you sign up for someone else&#039;s list. You need a squeeze page, (sometimes called an opt-in or landing page), where you offer something of value in return for your prospects information.

The prospect enters there information in the form that you provide on your page. The code for the form comes from your auto responder service. Once they sign up, they are automatically sent an email where they are asked to confirm there request for your offer.

Once they click on the link they are sent to your offer, which you would normally create a download page that will have a link to the file you are giving them. They are now a subscriber on your list and you can market to them at will.

Hope that clears up some things. If you need more details please contact me. I&#039;m here to help.

		<description>Hi JT

I keep hearing that we newbies must focus on list building. I got that. What I can&#039;t figure out is how to go about the process right before people opt-in?? I know this is right in front of me but I&#039;m just not grasping it.

Where are these folks that I&#039;m providing with content in exchange for their name/email going to submit this info?? If I don&#039;t have a site, blog, then where are they coming across the page asking for their name/email??

I hope I worded this properly so maybe someone could see &amp; understand my issues. Like I said, I know it&#039;s right there in front of my eyes.

Thank you so much for all the info, reading your stuff definitely clears some things up.</description>

		<description>Hey JT
What a great Blog! Lots of great content and places to get things.
I&#039;m jealous, hehe, I&#039;m Alex&#039;s 2nd year &quot;graduate&quot; and excited about
his teachings, and as I put them in action, I am seeing the results
he said we would.

Mr Blog got 35,000 hits in the last 6 weeks, and my list has increased 55
a month. Thanks for your JV Give-aways materials... very nice.
