Well, after almost an entire month of my sites being non-functional, except for brief moments, I finally bailed out and moved everything to a big name hosting company. I now have 99% of my sites back online and working like they are supposed too.

The entire fiasco is a bit ironic because I initially moved my account from my very first web host to this last one because the first one kept going down all the time. I am not going to name the hosting company because it is not my intent to drag anyone's name through the mud.

The lesson to be learned here is that your web hosting account should be treated as though it were the virtual building of a traditional type business. Make sure you are setting up shop in a nice high rise instead of a mud hut.

When you are first starting out, it may not be that big of a deal if your sites aren't working now and then but once you have an established online business it's a totally new ball game.

I lost a lot of money because my sites were not live. I am not just talking about sales. I am talking about credibility. My help desk was down for almost a month. I have hundreds of links pointing back to my helpdesk and anyone who tried to go there for help got a big ERROR when they tried.

This makes me look like an idiot! I had people who purchased things or signed up for free offers and then the download pages wouldn't work. When they tried to go to the help desk it was non-existent.

I got emails where I was called a scammer. I had a bunch of Paypal disputes as a result. In the Internet marketing world, nothing is worse then a tarnished image. No one will trust you ever again.

Luckily, I was able to take care of most of the issues and iron everything out. Or at least I hope so. I guess I will never know how much damage was done. I'll just have to hope for the best.

Anyway, the lesson here is make sure you are using one of the well known, reputable, web hosting companies to house your online business. They may cost more but they are worth every penny.

With that said, anyone who may have open issues with a download or product they did not receive,  please submit a ticket at my help desk. It is working again.

The neighborhood we live in doesn't have a lot of children so there weren't very many people giving out candy. I felt the kids made a sub standard haul, by my standards, but they were quite pleased with the amount of candy they got and that is all that matters.

The significence of the holiday season means a lot of different things to a lot of different people depending on where you are from and your religious beliefs. For me, when I was a kid, it always meant family get togethers. My family is spread all over the United States some living as far as Hawaii. My mother has 3 brothers with families and we have not all been together since both of my Grandparents were alive.

I now have my own immediate family and also 2 children from my first marriage who are in their twenties. The youngest has just recently made me a Grandfather at age 47. I couldn't be happier. Unfortunately, I am not going to be able to be with them this Christmas but will be visiting them soon. This year, the family is coming to my house here in Florida.

I am making this post because I want to make sure that every one remembers why we are doing this. Here in the United States it has become the accepted norm that if you want to excel at your job, you need to put in 50 – 60 hour work weeks. This is as true for corporate America as it is for Blue collar America. Some where along the line we have become obsessed with chasing the dollar and material possesions for a lot of different reasons.

It's good to know that I can still do it when crunch time comes but I have made an effort to scale back. I have a sign on the wall in my office that says "Have You Had Any Fun Today?"

This helps keep me from being obsessed by my wants. All I really have to do is ask myself "why I am doing all this?" The answer is easy. Like they say, "a picture is worth a thousand words."
