I have seen a lot of my fellow students needing help with the whole JV Giveaway thing. I have built more than a few blogs and websites, so things like setting up a thank you page or a squeeze page are pretty much routine for me.

I do remember how much I struggled with tasks like this in the beginning so I totally understand people having problems with this. Just because you have detailed instructions or even a step by step video, it can still be a daunting undertaking for a newbie. For me, in the beginning, it was mostly very frustrating and time consuming.

I have come up with a solution for those of you who are struggling and want to get started with your list building. Here is what I propose.

I will set up the following for you at no cost.

  • a squeeze page for the product that you want to give away.
  • a thank you page that will alert your subscribers that they must check their email and confirm.
  • a download page that your subscribers will be taken to after they confirm their opt in.
  • I will set up your first follow up message in Aweber (must be Aweber)
  • a video that will show you how to set all of this up yourself.
  • a video that will show you how to take these same pages and make them work for other giveaways, simply by changing the information in a config file.
  • I will show you some ways to promote your JV giveaway links at no cost.

This will let you go ahead and get started with your list building while you learn. I will not charge you anything for this but do expect a few things in return. This will make it a win win for all of us.

Here is what I will require from you:

  • You must sign up for my JV Giveaway notification list at http://marketersmantras.com/giveaways
  • When ever you join a JV giveaway, you will join from that page through my referral links. (you have to join through some one's link, it might as well be mine)
  • You have to promise to participate! Please don't waste my time. My time is limited so I will not be able to help everyone. This will be on a first come first serve and I will work down the list as I can.
  • If you don't have a product, hosting, auto responder or any of the necessary tools to participate in a JV Giveaway, you will join through my affiliate links.

I hope this sounds fair to you. If it doesn't…tough titty. That is the deal. I get paid around $40 per hour at my regular job and my time off is worth waaaay more than that to me. I am doing this because I remember how hard it was when I first got involved with internet marketing. I also realize that the majority of the visitors to this blog are fellow students of Alex Jeffreys coaching program.

I can knock out these web pages fairly quickly but I will only be able to do a few per day. Depending on how many people sign up for this, I will try and designate an hour or 2 on the weekends where we can talk or chat via Skype if you have any questions.

If you are interested, then leave a comment and email me here:  giveawayhelp at jtmartin.net

I wrote out at because those f—-n spammers use software to harvest email addresses and the software looks for the @ symbol. I am going to play this by ear and see how it goes. I can't promise anything except that I will do my best to get you set up and show you how to do it your self so you will no longer need my help.

PS – Now is the time to start building your list. Ever since Jason James launched his Giveaway Riches product, new JV Giveaway events are popping up all over the place. There have been over 6 new ones announced just in the last week. Lots of list building opportunities. Don't miss out. I will help you.

I finally got my new ebook up on the blog with an opt in form and it is now available at several JV giveaway events. Between the ebook and my computer having a total melt down, I haven't made a blog post in almost a month.

Shame on me, but some times your life just gets in the way of what you are trying to accomplish. All you can do is go with the flow and do what you can. I am not one to make excuses so I won't.

Things are almost back to normal. I have most of my software re-installed and have my email accounts set up in Outlook again. My computer has finally auto-downloaded all the updates that it had accumulated over the last 2 years and is up to snuff once again.

Now that my ebook is done, I have 2 major projects that I am working on.

The first is to finalize the details of the JV Giveaway that I am hosting, along with fellow Fortune 500'ers Gary Simpson, Garry Parkes, and Carl Barton. We will be announcing a launch date shortly and it looks like we may have some special deals for our fellow students.

Make sure you are subscribed to my RSS feed so you don't miss out on that. I have some really cool stuff planned besides these 2 projects.

The second major project is to finish something that I was working on before I got involved in the Alex Jeffreys coaching program. I was putting together a membership site based around my viral list building system that I call Traffic Hits Multiplier.

I was using it to build my list before Alex Jeffreys made me a believer in JV giveaways. The web site is still under construction but you can join for free (there is no paid membership, yet).  Check out the "Quick Start" and you will discover some killer free programs that you can use to promote your JV Giveaways.

The system is designed for newbie marketers and for people on a very low budget. It shows you how to use traffic exchanges, safe lists, and other free viral programs to drive traffic and build your list at the same time at little or no cost.

I will keep you updated on both. The Giveaway is my number one priority right now. Plus I have already started getting a lot of responses about my ebook. It seems like it is going to be a hit.

This past Friday I was able to meet my new coach and mentor, Alex Jeffreys, in person. Until now, we have only communicated via webinar and email. He lives in the UK but was here in Florida attending an event that Rich Schefren was holding for his students. Saturday and Sunday were full for him so I took off work on Friday and met him at his hotel.

We had some coffee and talked mostly about list building and email marketing. Alex has said from the beginning of the coaching program that building a list and creating a relationship of trust with your subscribers is paramount to your success and was the turning point in his career. When he made list building his number one priority is when he really started to make money online.

There is nothing new about this information! Everyone reading this has heard famous internet marketers repeat over and over again, "the money is in the list". So why is it that there are still thousands of want to be internet marketers out there that are still not building a list? I do not know for sure but for some, I think it has something to do with the fact that it is not that "get rich" button that they are looking for.

I suffered from this syndrone several years ago when I first started my internet marketing journey. I was a program hopper. I joined every matrix based, mlm, and network marketing program that came along tying to find the one that was going to make me independently wealthy in a matter of months. Man, if I had only spent that time building a list. I would have a list of 100,000 or more easily.

About 2 years ago I decided that my problem was that I needed to get out and "rub shoulders" with the gurus and start making some connections and joint venture partnerships. I didn't have a lot of money to spend, but I did manage to make it to 3 different internet marketing events. I got to talk with people like Keith and Jeff Wellman, Bob "the teacher" Jenkins, Mike Filesaime, and Jeff Dedrick, just to name a few.

They all pretty much asked me the same thing. "How are you building your list?" and "Who is your mentor?" I decided that it might just be a good idea to start building my list. I also looked into finding a coach or mentor but quickly decided that the price tag for that was totally out of my reach for the time being. I decided to work on the list building instead.

I had been using traffic exchanges a good bit in the past and had learned how to actually get some results. To this date the only sale I have had promoting the Profit Pulling Platform that Alex gave all of his students came from a subscriber who signed up via a traffic exchange. You can get results from traffic exchanges but there are much better ways.

I created a viral system that I call Traffic Hits Multiplier and I used it to build a list of 100 subscribers in a months time. I was in the process of modifying my viral system into a free membership site when I joined Alex's program. The project has been on hold since, although I do work on it a little bit now and then.

I have done much better with JV Giveaways. I have built a list of over 500 in Jan of this year using JV Giveaways. If you have read List Building With Alex, then you know that giveaways is how Alex started out with his list building. I discussed this at length with Alex and told him that I was going to be hosting my own JV Giveaway in the near future. (subject for another post soon to come)

I am using his friend, Jason James's, new product as a guide. Giveaway Riches is all about how to run your own JV giveaway event based on Jason's own experiences with the 3 Greedy Giveaways that he hosted in the past. The upsell for Giveaway Riches is the software to run your own giveaway along with some case studies and interviews with top JV Giveaway guru's like Mark Hendricks.

I have been really excited about my success with the JV Giveaways so far. It has inspired me to giveaway some PLR products for people to use in giveaways and to create some video tutorials to help you modify those products so you can use them as gifts in a JV giveaway. I am still putting the final touches on my ebook "JV Giveaways Unleashed" which I will be giving away shortly.

I am going to follow the ebook with the JV giveaway event as soon as I can get everything set up and working properly. I discussed my plans with Alex and he gave me a lot of encouragement and basically told me that right now, list building should be my number one priority. I am really stoked and ready to take this to the next level.

You know, it's one thing to read about how you should build your list and to even here big time gurus talk about it. But when I saw the look in Alex's eyes and could sense the genuine excitement in his voice as he told me about the success he had once he built a list of about 2000 subscribers, I knew that he was telling the truth.

He told me that if I keep doing what I am doing with the list building and concentrate on building a relationship with my new subscribers, that I will be able to quit my job by the end of the year. His parting words were "People make this out to be soooo hard, but it's not. It's actually easy if you just know what to do and do it."

That is the reason that I payed for a mentor. I had gotten to the point where it was difficult to put my heart into what I was doing. I wasn't sure that the actions I was taking were what I really needed to be doing. Now I have the advice of someone who is making over $20,000 a month online. I am going to do what he says and concentrate all my efforts into accomplishing the goals I have set.

My list building goals for 2009 are 7500 subscribers by the end of the year. I have over 600 so far this year. I am averaging about 15 to 20 subscribers a day participating in JV Giveaways. I expect that number to increase significantly once I start using my highly targeted ebook as my giveaway gift. I am also going to set up a nice squeeze page and pimp it using my Traffic Hits Multiplier viral system. That should increase my results nicely.

Then I am going to really kick the list building into overdrive by hosting a JV giveaway event of my own. (along with a little help that I will announce later) I don't think that I am going to have any problems at all reaching my goal for this year.

It's only a matter of time now. I should be finished with the ebook tonight. All I have to do is make sure that I have all of the back end components in place and that all the links work and go where they are supposed to go. Then I will make a couple test runs to double check that the system runs smoothly and like I planned.

For those that are wondering, it's not just about creating the ebook. While I am giving the ebook away for free, my goal is to make about $500 within the first 30 days that the ebook is live. This will happen through various affiliate links that are in the ebook and from back end offers that will be presented to my subscribers via my auto responder.

That is how the "big dogs" build their lists and get payed to do it. My mentor, Alex Jeffreys, has taught me that if you provide as much value as you can and give away the farm for free, your subscribers will be begging you to buy something from you later down the road.

Well I am about to put that theory to the test. I have been using the strategies Alex presents in his free ebook, "List Building With Alex", and I have added almost 500 subscribers to my email list. These are verified subscribers. If I include every lead I generated the number is over 700.

I have been participating in JV Giveaways and PLR products to achieve these results. My ebook is designed to help me leverage the JV Giveaways to produce even more subscribers per event and will be the lead in to my next project. Some time in the very near future, I am going to host my own JV Giveaway event.

Now I have been thinking of a way that I could include some of my fellow students as partners in this event. There will of course have to be some basic requirements that will have to be met. One will be your own original product that will have a permanent place on the first page of gifts.

I was thinking that I could have a script that would rotate the various partners opt in forms on the sign up page. That way the major partners will all get to add thousands of subscribers to their list. I  just finished reading Jason James free report for his new Giveaway Riches product.

He talks about his 3 "Greedy Giveaway" events that he hosted and how he averaged over 11,000 new subscribers per event. He then goes on to say how those results are nothing compared to some of the events run by Henry Gold where he added over 28,000 subscribers in 2 weeks time.

There is also money to made from the one time offers and the upgrades that could be split amongst the partners. Jason said he averaged about $5000 per event. That's not exactly chump change although the real value is in the subscribers.

I am probalby looking for no more than 3 or 4 partners. We will share in the cost of the software to run the JV which is about $300. I have a hosting plan that has unlimited bandwidth, server space, domains, and everything so that is covered. I have placed a support ticket to make sure that the server I am on can handle that kind of traffic.

The partners will have to share in the duties of running the support desk and possibly any expenses that might be incurred if the services of a programmer are required. I think I can handle setting up the script, but you never know. There will also be the cost of the website graphics and some promotional banners which will be another $200 – $300.

We will also need to put together some promotional emails. I think the partners can probably handle this on their own. We will decide on whether we buy any advertising as we go. It depends on what kind of JV partners we have as we approach launch day.

I am totally open to suggestions. If anyone has any ideas or you are seriously interested in being a partner then leave a comment.
