Last night was bonus module number 1 for Alex Jeffreys coaching program. The guest speaker was Maria Andros, the Queen of Video Marketing. Maria was very enthusiastic and gave us a tremendous amount of information in the short hour that she had.
She gave us a run down of some of the do's and don'ts of using videos as a marketing tool. Things like:
- making sure you put your url in the description
- making sure you put your target keywords in the description
- making sure you use tags
- always introduce yourself
- always have a call to action
- ask people to comment on your video
- smile, don't be too serious
That is just a few out of a long list.
Videos have taken the internet by storm in the last couple years. Maria is right when she says that "Old School" marketing tactics don't work any more. Video and social marketing is the future of making money online. All you have to do is look at the popularity of sites like YouTube to know this is true.
I have been telling myself for the last 2 years that I need to start implementing videos in my marketing strategy and haven't done squat until recently. Luckily for me it is not too late. I announced a few weeks back that I was going to have a Camtasia marathon to create videos while I still had the free trial available.
Well, life and the holidays kind of got in the way, although I did make 5 videos. My free trial had just run out but after listening to Maria last night, I knew that the $300 for Camtasia is nothing compared to the money that it will make me down the road. So I went ahead and got my key.
Alex sweetened the pot last night by announcing another contest. There will be 2 $1500 prizes payed out after Feb. 5th. One for the most creative/informative video and one for the video that generates the most traffic. So I have decided that I am going to win one of those prizes. That will pay for Camtasia and then some.
I got a new flip video cam for Christmas and I plan to put that to use as well. I might even upgrade to a high def flip cam if I win one of those prizes. You know…I was thinking…The most creative video probalby stands a good chance to be the one that generates the most traffic.
$3000 would be sweeeeeeeeet!
Especially since what I have in mind is probably going to be a lot of fun. I have to say that I have seen one video that I enjoyed by a fellow student of Alex Jeffreys. Check out Dave Dunn's blog and watch the intro video. Dave takes advantage of his "newness" to making videos and turns it into something hilarious.
He is doing exactly what Maria couldn't stress enough last night.
"Just Be Yourself and Have Fun"
Now all of this great information raised some questions about tags and keywords. Maria explained longtail keywords a little but really didn't have the time to go into any detail. Luckily, I have a Hub page that I created about 4 or 5 months ago that explains all you need to know about Long Tail Keywords.
Take a look I think you will find it very helpful. I show you how I do my keyword research. If you like it please take a minute, give me a thumbs up, and click on the share button to submit it to Digg, Mixx or Stumble Upon.

I have mentioned several times before that I was in Portal Feeder for about 6 months and that I use a couple programs called Comment Kahuna and Syndicate Kahuna. All of these programs are by the same group of developers and they absolutely rock. Last year they came out with another program called Traffic Kahuna.
Traffic Kahuna is a very powerful system that creates back links, drives traffic, has a web 2.0 co-op, gives you access to "blog feeder", "article feeder", a PR 5 blog network, and much more. There is a very limited number of spots and it has been closed for months. It has only opened one other time since it's launch and was closed the next day.
When it launched I was a little skeptical (I have grown cautious over the last few years) and I wanted to see what kind of feedback popped up on the forums. I heard a lot of good things so I got on there waiting list. They reopened a few months later and I had to wait until I got paid to get in. Well, that was 3 days away and when I tried, they had shut the doors already.
I finally got my chance to join today. I opened my email after dinner and there it was. I wasted no time and immediately signed up. Now this is not for somebody who is a beginner. The system is easy to use but the techniques and methods are pretty advanced. There would be a huge learning curve for a newbie. There is quite a bit to take in for some one like me who has some experience.
It's just that the program is so complete and loaded with tools. They are giving away there "Video Post Robot" software that makes a joke out of Tube Mogul. It submits your videos to 30 different video directories. The first 50 new sign ups get the software or something like that.
This is officially going to be my number one strategy for driving traffic to my blog. I will continue to do the oil rig hopping to all the blogs in the Alex Jeffreys coaching program, but this will be the strategy that brings me visitors from outside our community and will put me at the top of the SERPS.
Right now my blog is listed 8th for the Google search Alex Jeffreys coaching program and 18th for Alex Jeffreys coaching. I will continue submitting articles to directories and grooming my Squidoo lens and Hub page to help boost my SEO. Tonight I am going to stay up and start using Traffic Kahuna to push my blog to number one for both search terms.
It will be interesting to see how fast I can achieve this considering Google just got done slapping the crap out of me. (I'll post about that tomorrow) The good thing about Traffic Kahuna is that I can use it to help all of my websites including my Squidoo lenses and my Hub pages, which is where I make all of my affiliate income.
By the time you read this, Traffic Kahuna will probably be closed again already. If I were you, I would sign up for their waiting list so you can be notified via email next time they open the doors. I have put a link in this post and one in the sidebar. Meanwhile, I'll be up all night. I feel like a kid in a candy store.

Yesterday we had the first "brain storming" session of Alex Jeffreys coaching program. It lasted for a good 4 hours and I have to take my hat off to Alex again. "You've got a lot of energy and tremendous patience dude!"
As I listened to my fellow students talk about their ideas and what they were having problems with, I started a list of things that I can do to try and help out. Most of these "start up" things are easy for me because I have been doing this for several years now.
The thing is, I remember how frustrating it was at first. I didn't have the money to hire some one to do all the "tech" stuff, so all I could do was muddle my way through it. It was very time consuming and at times I was ready to throw my computer out the window. I must admit that it was a very good learning experience, but I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
So I have decided that I am going to have a Camtasia marathon this weekend, starting tonight. In order to get a lot of them done I am going to let the quality suffer a little. Not the quality of the content mind you, but if my daughter bursts into my office and makes a lot of noise in the background, I'm not going to quit and do another take.
I can always go back and edit them later. I just want to get them out there right now so the people that need help NOW, can benefit from them.
Here is what I have planned so far:
- how to set up your RSS feed with Feedburner and where to distribute it.
- how to put a video on your blog
- how to set up Web 2.0 bookmarking on your blog and which ones you should use
- which plugins you should be using
- how to tweak your blog so the search engines will love it
Now I was also thinking about putting up some of the real basic stuff like:
- how to register your domain and set up your name servers
- how to set up your blog with Fantastico
- how to add a paypal button
- how to use some of the basic html tags
- how to set up your Aweber
I am going to let the people decide. Post a comment and leave suggestions for possible videos you would like to see. You can leave more than one. Then go to my Alex Jeffreys Coaching Hub page and you will see a poll where you can vote for the one you want to see most.
I will be updating the poll with new suggestions all through the weekend and will remove options as I complete the videos. I want to help the people that need it most so get the word out and make sure every body offers their suggestions and votes.
I'll have the Senseo coffee machine in overdrive this weekend.

Yesterday I got my "profit pulling platform" and "list building machine" in place. This morning I got up at 3AM and send out a broadcast to my meager email list giving away copies of List Building With Alex. I then did my Yoga workout, got the kids off to school and went to work.
I spent my lunch break sending out promotions to a hand full of safelists. I added my squeeze page to my Pageswirl rotator, gave it priority, and surfed some traffic exchanges for about a half an hour.
When I got home from work this evening I checked my email and low and behold I had a $47 payment into my Paypal account. I logged into my Aweber account and I have 16 new subscribers to the new list I started for the List Building With Alex promotion.More on 16 Subscribers And 1 Sale!
